2021 James Single Vineyard Shiraz

Deep ruby in colour, the 2021 James Shiraz was fermented with 15% whole bunches, which has really elevated the delicious fruit characters. This wine has blood plum, liquorice, mulberries and five spice with hints of smoky oak. The palate has structured tannins contributing a fine dryness to the dark forest fruits. The 30% new Burgundian barrels tell an elegant tale of star anise, vanilla pod and liquorice root. While this wine has everything required to drink now, we believe it will only gain in complexity and elegance in the years to come and will continue to improve for ten years or more in your cellar.

Food pairing: Slow-roasted lamb, peking duck, hard cheeses, beef short ribs, and rich mushroom dishes.
